It’s no surprise that when you eat well, you feel well. Eating a healthy and well balanced diet is essential & your diet can also  be modified to help physical and emotional stress. Here is a look at food that can help you fight stress.

1. Walnuts

They have a very pleasant sweet  flavor. They contain alpha-linolenic acid, an essential omega-3 fatty acid and polyphenols that have been shown to help prevent memory loss. To bring out their flavor, you can roast them  and add to salads.

2. Oranges

They are the powerhouse of vitamin C and have a added benefit of being totally portable. Oranges help us to fight stress related free radicals.

3. Oatmeal

It is rich in vitamin B, which can combat stress by maintaining nerves and brain cells healthy. Studies have shown that kids who eat oatmeal for breakfast stay sharper throughout the day.

4. Garlic

Garlic is jam-packed with powerful antioxidants which neutralizes free radicals. Because stress weakens our immune system, we need friends like garlic, which can toughen its back up.

5. Chocolates

Chocolates have an undeniable link to mood. There’s evidence that in moderation, chocolate does make you feel better. Dark chocolate, in particular is known to lower blood pressure, adding to a stress-free feeling.

6. Chamomile Tea

It is probably one of the most recommended  bedtime soothers. According to the university of Maryland medical center, there is some evidence that in addition to fighting stress it also promotes sleep.

7. Sweet Potatoes

They can particularly be stress-reducing because they can satisfy the urge you get for carbohydrates when you are under a great deal of stress. They are packed fully with beta-carotene and other vitamins and the fiber helps your body to process the carbohydrates in a slow and steady manner.

8. Green vegetables

Green vegetables like broccoli, kale and other dark green vegetables are powerhouse of vitamins that help replenish our bodies in times of stress.
